Intro to Sea Kayaking.

how to choose a boat, paddle, life jacket (PFD), and other equipment.
You will learn how to properly size a boat to you, get in and get out from shore or a dock,
and the basic strokes of forward, backward, stopping, and turning. You will try a wet exit
and safely reenter the kayak from the water with a self-rescue.
If time permits, T-rescues will be tried as well.

Sea Kayaking Beyond the Basics
For those that have been paddling before and feel comfortable in a sea kayak.
We will review strokes (forward, backward, stopping, and sweeps)
and add sidewards movements (draws and sculling draws), bracing (high and low), and advanced turns.
Rescues will be an active part of class (self, T, and bow assisted).
If time permits, more advanced rescues or the beginning steps of an eskimo roll will be presented.
